Bring a charger adapter or plug converter. Countries have different size plugs and voltage. So if you want to use your iPod, make sure you can charge it.
Check the voltage of your electronics. There is nothing worse than having an adapter and still not being able to use a blow-dryer because the voltage is not high enough for that country.
Make sure all dates are accurate on cameras, video cameras, etc. You will be glad you did ten years from now when everything is dated accurately.
A GPS can be a handy addition to your day bag. Should I turn left or right? Where am I?
For customs, if possible, put electronics in a day bag or backpack rather than leaving them wide open in a plastic bin. Scanner and airport theft does happen.
Consider taking a surge protector along to protect your charging electronics.
Use your hotel TV’s USB port on the side if you forget your charger.
Coffee mugs make for a great speaker for your phone.
A glasses case is great for holding ear-buds and chargers.
Smartphones charger faster when in airplane mode.
Wrap headphones around a binder clip.
Bring a power bar with USB chargers as well.
