11 Health Tips When You Travel
Check with your doctor if you have any health concerns that may prevent you from traveling.
Ensure that you have all of the proper vaccinations. Carry your vaccination book.
Make sure that prescriptions are renewed. Carry a copy of your prescription with you as well.
Medicine should be kept in their original containers.
Carry Travel Insurance. Ensure that it applies to emergencies and evacuation as well. Just make sure that you have, at a minimum, emergency health and evacuation. Death, depending upon your other policies, may not be that important to carry.
Visit your dentist before you leave if you have any lingering issues.
Visit your optometrist if you have any issues. Carry a copy of your prescription if you have glasses or contact lenses. If you need to replace either, you will be happy that yo have that copy with you.
A signed letter should accompany syringes or Epi-pen kits from your doctor explaining the need for them.
Wear your Medical Alert bracelet, if you have one.
Have a card in your possession that indicates your blood type.
Bring an extra pair of glasses or contact lenses if you wear them.
