Wine Tasting in Southern France (2018)
Combining Dana's love of wines and my interest in the Templar Knights, we visited the Terres des Templiers in Banyuls-sur-Mer, France, for some wine tasting.
The good people of Terres des Templiers guided us through the winemaking and ageing processes of the Banyuls and Collioure wines that they make.
The Vineyards of Collioure and Banyuls and those in Provence were the first historical French vineyards (dating back to the 7th Century BC). The monk-soldier Templars settled in the region during the 12th to 14th century and restored the wine making practices first brought by the Phoenicians back in the 7th Century BC.

It's an easy drive along the Mediterranean Sea and quaint French villages to get there.
