Wildlife SOS Bear Rescue Centre

Updated: Nov 10, 2020

India has now banned the practice of using dancing Sloth Bears to make money.

The mothers would be shot and the young bears would have a red hot stick shoved through their mouth up through their snout. A rope would then be inserted through this wound and that would allow them to control and train the bear.

The SOS centre was founded to take care of these bears after they were rescued from their previous handlers.

As a family, we would like to go back to volunteer for a day or two to take care of the bears. They have a program where we could help to prepare their food, clean habitats, and build structures for them.
