November: New Dog, Basketball, Zoo, Khan Market

Updated: Nov 10, 2020

November arrived and we hit that phase of moving overseas where things became “normal.” We got into our routines at school and life flowed along nicely.

Kirsi and Aidan went through a spell of homesickness, Kirsi particularly. As Christmas approaches, family and friends are missed more.

Our Christmas plans involve a week in Singapore and then a week in Phuket, Thailand. That’s not a bad way to spend our December break and should help with the home sickness to certain extent.

We have a new favorite restaurant now named The Big Chill, which is in Khan Market. Good food and great ice cream. Love the pizza. Khan Market is the perfect example of never judging a book by its cover. The market itself is rugged at best but modern, if not narrow, stores appear once you cross through the doorway.

AES has been busy with great concerts and melas (business stalls are set up selling all sorts of products.

Basketball season has started and I’m Assistant Coach with the varsity team. They’re a great group of guys to work with. The opposing teams like to take pictures after the games.

The BIG NEWS is that we have a new member of the family named Winston. The kids love him!

One Sunday morning, we went to the New Delhi Zoo, which was really nice. Most of the exhibits were large and spacious for the animals while a few were not. The highlight were two birds having a good fight. Overall, though, we enjoyed our time there.

“It’s about to get real.” That’s right, I said it.
