Day 2 of our holiday saw us join a guide and driver to drive through the rugged countryside and small villages of Rajasthan to Kumbhalgarh Fort and the Jain temple at Ranakpur.
Kumbhalgarh Fort contains 36 km of a wall, which makes it the second longest wall in the world next to China’s. It would take over 2 days to talk the walls.
The view from the top of the palace hosts views of an animal reserve to the west and the fort grounds and its’ many temples to the east.
As in all Indian architecture, the incredible detail and vastness of scale are mindboggling.

Spiked doors to prevent elephants from ramming them down.
