Getting back into the swing of things

We’ve been back in Santiago for over a week now, and we’re getting settled into a bit of a routine. We’ve been busy every morning, visiting different people that we hadn’t seen in a couple months. We went to the playground with Abby, Lily and Julie, went to play with Stephen and Margaret and met a new friend who lives across the street from us. We also visited Elizabeth and Sy and their new baby, Cairo. We had one stay-in day because it was pouring.

This week has been rainy, rainy, rainy. Last Saturday, it actually snowed at our place but it didn’t last for more than a couple hours. Tuesday and Wednesday were rainy days where it just rained and rained. The great thing after a rain is that the air is clear; it’s so nice to breathe clean air! During the clear times, we got outside for walks.

I also started tutoring again this week. I’m working with the same Middle School boy that I worked with last year. It’s great tutoring him again. I’m also trying to get a couple elementary school students to tutor this year.

Pascuala is working with us three times a week now. It’s great!! It’s so nice to have her here that extra day. It helps out soooo much.

Mom has been coming along with us on our visits and has been helping out lots with the cooking and with looking after the kids too. With her help, I’ve been able to cook big meals all week. Not sure if I’ll be able to keep it up once she leaves but we’ll see.
