Kathmandu & Chitwan National Park Tour

This 3 nights Jungle Safari tour takes you to the central part of Nepal in the Chitwan National Park.


Chitwan national park is the biggest National park of Nepal and covers an area of 932 Sq.Km. It was designated as a national park in 1984. During the Rana Rule in Nepal it used to be the Hunting ground of the British and Nepalese Royal family and high ranking officials, which helped in depleting the number of wild life species, especially one horned Rhino and Bengal Tiger. After being listed as a protected area the number of animals has gone up significantly and Chitwan has become of the major tourist attraction of Nepal. The trip starts with a drive to Chitwan from Kathmandu. The activities include Tharu Cultural dance, Tharu Village exploration, Elephant Back Safari, Visit to the elephant breeding center, Canoeing and Bird watching, Jeep Safari…


Day 03: Kathmandu - Chitwan National Park

After early breakfast Drive to Chitwan (170km/5 hours). Tharu village walk in the afternoon. Tharu cultural program in the evening before dinner.


The drive from Kathmandu to Chitwan is a scenic drive of 5 hours. The change in the vegetation and lifestyle of the people is very significant. We will reach Chitwan for Lunch on this day. After a brief rest, we take a walk through the village of the Tharu people, one of the famous indigenous groups in Nepal.


They are famous for their resistance against Malaria, also for the huts they live in and the unique culture they have which they brought with them from Rajasthan in India from where they migrated. After a brief walk in the village to understand better we will come back to the hotel to see the Tharu dance program, which is a collection of many different dances that are performed by Tharu in different festivals.


Day 04: In National Park

After breakfast, we go ahead for the canoeing and elephant breeding center visit. We go to the elephant bathing place, if you want to participate you can enjoy the shower on an elephant. After lunch Elephant safari and Nature walk.


Yes, you are in the periphery of the Chitwan national park, The best habitat for tropical animals and plants in Nepal. This is an exciting day ahead of you. After breakfast in the morning, we drive for a while from your jungle camp and go for the canoeing in the Budi Rapti river. The canoeing lasts for maximum 40 minutes and during those 40 minutes, you see at least 20 species of birds and 2 species of crocodiles basking in the sun. There are chances to see the one-horned rhino and other wild animals.


After the canoeing, we go to the elephant breeding center where female elephants are kept for breeding. You might also see a few small naughty ones coming to play with the visitors. We drive to the elephant bathing place in Suaraha. You can participate in the elephant bathing if you want. It cost you 2-3 dollars for a shower on top of an elephant. We head back to the hotel for lunch and rest for a while.


At around 3 pm we will go for the elephant ride inside the Chitwan national park which lasts for 2 hours. There you can see many animals including one-horned rhino, 4 species of deers, monkeys and many more.


Day 05: In National Park

Jeep Safari inside the core National Park – An opportunity to see four different kinds of deer, rhinoceros, wild boar, monkey, leopard, sloth bear and the Royal Bengal Tiger (If you are lucky). You will also encounter many other smaller mammals that have made Chitwan their home.


Day 06: Chitwan - Kathmandu

After breakfast drive back to Kathmandu (170km/5 hours). Free time around Thamel in the evening.


Note: Evening We stroll around in Thamel, Visit Garden of Dream, Shopping etc.


Day 07: Departure from Kathmandu


Time to say good bye. See you again in your next visit to Nepal.
